Eligibility Criteria of the Fulbright US Student Program 2026/27:

US Citizenship: Candidate must be a US citizen or national by the deadline. Permanent residents are not eligible. Candidates with dual citizenship should check specific award descriptions.
Education: candidates should have bachelor’s degree.
Arts Exception: For the creative arts, four years of professional experience or training can substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
Language Proficiency: Must fulfill the award requirements and have sufficient competency for the project and life in the host country.
J.D. Holders are eligible to apply.
M.D. Holders:
Are eligible for advanced academic study, but not for internships and residencies.
Candidates having postgraduate training of hospital/clinic research can apply for the Fulbright Scholar program.
Proposals for medical research including clinical training, patient care, and patient contact are not authorized.
