United Nations Nippon Foundation Fellowship Program 2026 (Fully Funded)

The application call is now open for the United Nations Nippon Foundation Fellowship Program 2026. The United Nations Nippon Foundation Fellowship is a Fully Funded program in the USA, with a duration of 9 months, divided into two phases. In one phase, fellows have to spend 3 months at DOALOS at the UN headquarters in New York. The other phase consists of 6 months of Advanced Academic Research and Study training at one of the host institutions of the UN Nippon Fellowship in Europe, the USA, Australia, Canada, Asia, and other Countries. The purpose of this program is to bring professionals from the developing countries who are working in the fields of ocean affairs, the law of the sea. Program Overview:

Phase one in the USA:

3 months in the USA from March/April-June: Researcher and professional skills training at DOALOS, UN headquarters, New York.

Phase two, 6 months (July-December):

Advanced academic research and study at one of 32 host institutions across the world.

Post Fellowship:

Candidates are expected to return to their home countries

Host Institutions:

After the completion of the first phase, participants have to spend 6 months at one of the Host Institutes for research.

Eligibility Criteria:

Age should be 25 to 40 years
Completed first university degree
